How does the application process work?
First, your FAFSA is sent to the US Department of Education’s processor who does a needs analysis for a Pell Grant. Then, the results are sent to you and the college(s) of your choice. Additional documentation is required for a complete file. The college uses the results to create a financial aid package for you.
Applicants can complete their applications online at http://www.socccdjobs.com from any computer with Internet access. Hard copy applications will also be accepted if all completed application materials are received by the closing deadline. After the closing date of a position, all applications will be submitted to a hiring committee for review. As this process is very comprehensive, the length of this period may vary from 3-6 weeks from the position closing date, depending upon the size of the committee and the number of applications received for the position. Please be patient during this review period as your application is very important to us! Those qualified applicants who are to be interviewed will be contacted by a Human Resources/District representative. If you applied through our new online applicant site, you may review the status of your application after the closing date by returning to the applicant site with your personal user name and password. Prospective students seeking admission must call the Studio to undergo a pre-screening and, if successful, to book an interview appointment with Mr. Esper. At the time of the interview the student must bring a recent photograph, a resume of acting work and a “Statement of Purpose.” This is an essay, of less than one page, describing why the applicant wants to be an actor; and what their goals are in coming to the Studio. More often than not, students will know if they are accepted to the Studio at the conclusion of the second interview. For a complete list of admissions requirements, please see our Admissions page.
First-year students: Applicants should submit the following paperwork to be considered for admission at Stephens College: signed and completed application; $25 application fee (waived if a student visits campus prior to applying, is referred by a Stephens alumna or if the student applies online); official high school transcript; official ACT or SAT I score; and a Counselor Recommendation Form/Letter of Recommendation.
There is a two-stage application process. First, applicants submit a brief proposal. Second, selected applicants participate in an evaluability assessment (EA) and submit additional documents during the full-proposal stage. In addition, applicants may participate in applicant Web conferences with RWJF staff and the program director on April 23, 2009 , from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. ET or April 30, 2009 , from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. ET to learn about the program and ask questions.
