How does Rolfing Work?

0

Rolfing works within the body’s complex web of connective tissue, or fascia, to release long held restrictions and patterns of holding in the body. Fascia is the bodies complex web of connective tissue enveloping each muscle, bone and organ in the body. It is the organ of form, giving our body shape. Subject to many of the stresses of daily life, injury, and the constant pull of gravity on our body, fascia responds by becoming short, thick, and dense. Flexibility, length, and ease of movement are lost. Throughout the Rolfing sessions we systematically realign the body, releasing the connective tissue holdings. This allows the body to unwind into a more spacious and comfortable alignment with the force of gravity as a support.
