SEO efforts get your site ranking in the “organic” or “natural” listings section of Google and Yahoo. This is the primary section of the search results and occupies the center of the screen. PPC ads (pay-per-click campaigns) will get your site in front of potential clients by putting a text ad in the “sponsored ads” section of the search results. When someone clicks on your PPC text ad you will owe a fee to Google or Yahoo equivalent to the bid you placed (the PPC rates are based on auction type system where the highest bids per click get placed on the search results pages).
