How does moving pets overseas work?
Most countries do not quarantine pets coming from Australia, countries like Singapore if we look at countries close to Australia- Countries like Canada also do not quarantine pets as long as they have had all their shots and papers in order. Now if you were to take your pet to Malta YOU will be shocked to know that they do not allow pets to come into their tiny island country as its been rabies free from 1911! -However pets from the UK are given the Ok provided they are quarantined-I suggest you do not even ask what the quarantine conditions are like – ( this was a decades ago and I was not impressed) Dogs and cats can be transported by air and they do not suffer too much trauma , however I suggest that you visit the website of any country to check about their rules and policies on importing pets– Please be aware that now Major airlines are refusing to cargo pets on the same flight and some airlines have altogether refused pets — Air Canada being one of them_ Shame to them.
