How does hypnotism work?
Hypnotism operates on the principle that what the mind can conceive and believe, the body can achieve. Hypnotism puts forth the model of the mind having a conscious and an unconscious aspect. The Conscious Mind is said to look, listen, learn, accept, reject, criticize, judge, analyze and reason. That’s it. The Unconscious Mind is said to operate all bodily functions, serve as a storehouse of information and act out any image / idea / concept you allow to be put into it whether you are aware of it being put in there or not. The Subconscious not only does not filter or judge what it is told, it also accepts what it is told as the literal truth and will then bring those thoughts to reality. If you accept the concept that the Unconscious Mind moves in the direction of your most dominant thought, this is a powerful concept for change and self-improvement.
