How does Froedtert use the AHA Environmental Scan in its strategic planning process?
The AHA Environmental Scan is a key component of our strategic assessment process. It’s our starting point for understanding trends that may play out at the local and regional level. It’s also an important resource document for our board to better understand how consumers and demographics will be influencing the organization and delivery of health services. It also puts into context some of the economic, technological and financial forces that as an organization we need to better understand and plan for. How can hospitals weigh the importance of the trends identified by the AHA Environmental Scan in order to determinewhich ones will have an impact on their organizations? First of all, I hope every hospital and health system is spending time reviewing the information contained in the AHA Environmental Scan.
