How does CASCADE ensure global harmonisation?
7. The development of the necessary standardisation material for ADS-B applications is supported by the joint work of EUROCONTROL, EUROCAE, AsA, the Japanese CAA, the FAA and RTCA in the so-called Requirements Focus Group (RFG) of EUROCAE WG 51 and RTCA SC-186. Other standardisation bodies are also involved from an early stage. These include ICAO (OPLINKP, SASP and ASP), ARINC AEEC and ETSI. These working arrangements and the wide consultation process will result in the same standards being applied in various parts of the world thus providing a high degree of confidence in the global harmonisation of aircraft equipage and use of the applications. In addition to this, EUROCONTROL’s CASCADE programme is in regular contact with Airservices Australia’s ADS-B programme, the FAA ADS-B programme, NAV Canada and other initiatives in the field of ADS-B.
