How does Allmydata work?
When you drag a file to Allmydata you are can either copy it or back it up. If you copy it, the file will be copied to Allmydata, securely stored and never updated. If you choose to backup the file, Allmydata will check your local file periodically for changes you make to it and update it accordingly. By default Allmydata checks for updates to your files daily. You can changes the frequency in the Settings tab of Allmydata Preferences. If you backup a folder, any new files you create in the folder after the initial backup will also be automatically backed up.
When you drag a file to the Allmydata drive it will make an encrypted copy of the data to our servers and redundantly store it. You can then access it from any client that mounts your Allmydata drive. To schedule a backup, use the standard backup software included with your operating system (or your preferred backup software).
