How does a degree in Social Science with a concentration in Political Science differ from a Political Science degree?
In most respects, it really does not differ at all. When a person graduates from UB with a degree in Social Science with a concentration in Political Science, he or she is prepared for graduate study in Political Science just as any Political Science major would be. One advantage of the Social Science major is that the student can switch from his or her concentration in one area (e.g., Political Science) to another area (e.g., Sociology or International Relations) without having to change his/her major.
