How Does a Baby Sling Work?
Baby Slings Provide a Hands-free Way to Carry a Baby Baby slings provide a hands-free way for a parent or caregiver to carry a baby. Through a fabric hold close to the wearer’s body, the baby is placed in a secure position that is completely supported by the baby sling. Baby slings can be of the ring, pouch or wrap variety. Ring slings consist of fabric being threaded through a set of rings to form an oval shape. When worn like a sash, the fabric is folded into a pouch where the baby can lie or sit. Pulling the fabric through the rings will tighten the sling. Pouch slings are made by sewing a piece of fabric together at the ends and then folding it to form a pouch. When worn like a sash, the pouch can be opened and the baby placed in it. Wrap slings require a piece of fabric to be wrapped around the body of the wearer and tied and twisted to hold the baby in place. The most common fabrics used in baby slings are woven and breathable cottons and stretch materials. Eco-friendly materials
