How Do You Use Two Part Epoxy Resin?
You can use epoxy resin as both a coating and an adhesive. As a coating, it provides an almost impenetrable barrier to the elements. As an adhesive, it is usually harder than the material it joins. Its tough, waterproof bond makes it an excellent choice for both purposes. A two-part system may seem a bit messy and complicated at first, but with a little experience, it may become your coating/glue of choice. Clean the surface of your project. Any dust or debris on the surface will become a permanent part of the finished product once the epoxy has cured. Place your project over newspaper or drop cloth to catch drips or spills. Cured epoxy is rock-hard and all but impossible to remove from most surfaces. Place the recommended amounts of resin and hardener in a clean coffee or soup can. Stir slowly and thoroughly with a paint stick. Apply a uniform coat of epoxy to the surface with a bristle brush. Work from the center of your project to the edges.
