How Do You Treat Dandruff With Vinegar?
Vinegar (acetic acid) is one of those multifaceted household ingredients. Vinegar can be used for everything from deodorizing to fluffing up rice. Vinegar treats dandruff by destroying the environment where dandruff-causing critters thrive. Those yeastlike fungi require a certain acid-base balance to grow. Vinegar, an acid, shifts this acid-base balance back to normal. Shampoo often and use vinegar to treat dandruff. Combine one part vinegar with eight parts water. Place in a cup, bottle or spray bottle for convenience. Wash your hair with a mild shampoo. After shampooing, towel-dry your hair or allow your hair to dry naturally. Don’t blow dry. Apply the vinegar solution directly to your scalp. A spray bottle makes this easy. If you use a cup, use a cotton swab to apply vinegar to the affected areas. Don’t rinse. Allow the vinegar solution to stay on the scalp and combat dandruff.
