How Do You Tie Etnies?
Skate shoes–such as Etnies–have a distinct style of lacing, chosen for both its aesthetic and practical appeal. Known as “bar lacing,” the technique yields an appearance of horizontal laces without any underlying lace showing. This method of lacing also makes the shoes easy to slip on or off without having to undue any knots. Thread the lace through the lowest eyelet on each side of the tongue from the outside of the shoe in. Pull the ends of the lace so that both ends are of equal length. Thread the left lace through the lowest available left eyelet from the inside of the shoe out, and through the lowest available right eyelet from the outside of the shoe in. Pull the lace taut. Thread the right lace through the lowest available right eyelet from the inside of the shoe out, and through the lowest available left eyelet from the outside of the shoe in. Pull the lace taut.
