How Do You Replace Broken Slate On A Pool Table?
The slate board on a pool table is extremely important because it’s what keeps the table level while playing. You can easily repair small cracks and dings with billiards glue specifically made for such damage. But if the slate on your pool table is cracked and broken beyond repair, it’s time to replace broken slate on a pool table. Measure your pool table. You may think you know the size of your pool table, but measure it to be positive and to be sure you order the correct sized piece(s) of slate. See Resources for slate dimensions for various sized pool tables. Remove the broken slate. Carefully unscrew the broken slate from the support backing. When all the slate is removed, check over the support backing to make sure it isn’t cracked or damaged. If it is, you have to replace them before installing your new slate. Take off the rails. Slate for pool tables is over-sized and extends under the rails. The rails have to be taken off in order to fit the slate piece or pieces into place. Ch
