How Do You Remove Urine Scent From Mattresses?

No matter what precautions are taken, it seems impossible that a child’s mattress will be free of evening mishaps when they’re potty training. The scent of urine in a mattress will smell up the entire room. Try these tips to remove urine smell from mattresses. Open the windows in the room to get the air moving and to help dry the mattress. Turn on a ceiling or oscillating fan as well. Soak up as much of the urine as you can with a dry towel. Clean the mattress with a carpet and upholstery cleaner. Scrub with a soft cloth and then soak up any excess fluids with a dry towel. Let the mattress air dry. This may take about 24 hours, depending on how wet it was. Spray the mattress with an odor remover spray. Be sure and cover the entire area and a little bit outside of it. Let the mattress dry. Sprinkle baking soda on the mattress if it still smells. Let it sit for 24 hours and then vacuum it off.
