How to Do Quick Fix Number 1 Step 1 Stick the point of a pencil (or the tip of a sharpened wooden dowel) into the hole and break it off. Step 2 Wrap the pipe two or three inches around the hole with electrical tape and spread “Plumber’s Goop” over the tape to prevent water from working its way through.
