How Do You Paint After Removing Wall Paper?
If you are moving into a new home, one of the first areas you may look to improve on are the colors of the walls. If wallpaper just isn’t your style you probably are going to remove it and paint the old walls. However, you can’t always just pull the wallpaper off in sheets and expect to paint the walls instantly. Depending on how the paper came off there may be some prep work required. Examine the walls you want to paint after removing the wallpaper. Sand the walls down if the wallpaper left some rough spots or glue on the wall after removal. You may need to sand some areas where small spots of wallpaper wouldn’t come off also. Wash the walls with a mild solution of all-purpose cleaner and water mixed in a bucket if there is still some glue residue on the walls. Make sure the walls are dry before painting.
