How Do You Make Jewelry Using Buttons?
Buttons add a whimsical and eclectic touch to jewelry designs. Necklaces and bracelets using two- or four-hole buttons are simple to make; beading thread or monofilament line will fit through the buttonholes easily for a myriad of jewelry designs. Layer different sizes and colors of buttons back to back for an accordion-style design or connect the buttons face forward with beads for added dimension and color. Cut a 4-inch strip of soft monofilament line for each button available for the jewelry design. Before creating the necklace or bracelet, you can embellish each button with a 4mm crystal bead. Thread the line from back to front through one of the two holes in the center of the button. Thread the 4mm bead through the line and insert the end of the line through the second hole in the button.
