How Do You Make A Martini “Dirty”?
Show off your martini making skills by serving dirty martini’s at your next get-together, holiday party or celebration. The difference between a regular martini and a dirty martini is the ingredients. To make a martini “dirty”, simply add olive juice. The olive juice makes the martini mixture a bit cloudy, hence the name “dirty” martini. Martinis are usually made with gin, but today’s drinking crowd often prefers vodka. It’s easy to make a martini “dirty” – here’s how: To start making the dirty martini, fill a cocktail shaker half way up with ice. Carefully pour the vodka or gin, vermouth and olive juice into the cocktail shaker. Gently stir the mixture in the cocktail shaker for eight to ten seconds (be sure you don’t break the ice cubes when stirring). Strain the martini mixture into a chilled cocktail glass. Garnish the dirty martini with olives on a toothpick. Olives gives martinis that extra punch of taste (and they are a great snack too!). Serve the dirty martinis to your guests!
