A sound card receives all the audio information from your computer and either sends it into the computer from an outside source (such as a microphone) or exports it to an outside device (such as computer speakers). However, before the device can function properly, you need to install the drivers for the hardware onto the computer. These drivers allow the computer to understand the sound card and function with it. Insert the driver installation CD into the computer’s CD/DVD driver; a driver installation wizard will load.
