How do you feel about the Zero Population Growth movement?

I’m in it, for reasons already discussed. Zero population growth is good; actual reduction of the human population is better.

It looks like we need to clarify the definition of zero population “GROWTH” for some of the readers / posters: It means the population stays at the current number (about 7,000,000,000 people) Birth=Death, no change. It does not mean humans going extinct! Zero Growth doesn’t even suggest that we should be working on decreasing population. It suggests that a balance could be created between birth and death rates so that we don’t overbreed ourselves right out of our habitat (Earth) I believe that as a species we need to work on both a decrease to a sustainable population size and then a level birth rate. This will have to be done through education, awareness of social responsibility and a shift in cultural attitudes about reproducing. – This ethic can not be forced on people.
