The artist colony city of Taos is a blend of ancient ambience and new-age nuances, all of it in magical surroundings that will constantly take your breath away. Step 1 To truly understand the town’s unique nature, spend an afternoon at the Taos Pueblo, an ancient community with a number of structures dating back between 500 and 1,000 years. Approximately 150 individuals are still living in the adobe structures without power or electricity, and authentic art, crafts and more are available for purchase. Step 2 The Taos Art Museum, now housed in a handsome studio constructed between 1927 and 1933, is a superb window in the town’s artistic past and a good way to beat summer heat or winter cold.
