How Do You Clean A Tea Maker?
Tea makers are convenient and easy to use for avid ice tea drinkers. The maker heats up the water, sends it through the brewing basket filled with tea bags and pumps it into a ready-use pitcher, filled with ice. It should be maintained and cleaned on a regular basis, especially if you start to notice an odd taste or the maker stops working properly. This may means it is time to clean the internal water reservoir. Wash the brew basket and pitcher in a mild dish detergent and warm water mixture. Most manufacturers state you can also use the dishwasher for these parts. Do this after each use. Remove the brew basket and pitcher and soak it the undiluted white vinegar for 20 minutes to remove visible hard water mineral deposits. Rinse thoroughly. Wash, if necessary. Use undiluted white vinegar to clean calcium and limestone deposits in the water reservoir found inside your ice tea maker.
