How do you boot an antivirus rescue CD using windows xp?
it’s different on different computers. My Dell systems look for me to press F12 during post (before you get the first “Windows” logo) and if i press the F12 key i get a “boot menu” that lets me choose what device to boot from. F8 is usually used during Windows startup to give you the options to go to safe mode or recovery mode, enable logging on boot or a diagnostic boot. I never use Vista so I am not aware of that having an option to boot from the CD at that point as it is already completed with the initial boot loader. However in Windows 2003/WinXp and earlier the F8 option did NOT have a choice to boot from the CD.
