How Do You Avoid A Breech Birth?

This is what I have done to avoid having a breech birth. That’s not to say that it will work for everyone but this is what has worked for me personally. Don’t bend too far over. The head is the heaviest part of the baby’s body so its only logical that if you bend all the way over, there is a chance, because of gravity, that your baby will turn over too. Bend at the knees, not the hips. This way you are spreading the legs as you go straight down rather than bending over at the waist and hips. Don’t lean over when you look for pots, pans and other things in low cupboards. Be watchful when you are bathing the children as well; kneel rather than lean. If you have to pick something up off the floor, squat down, don’t just reach over to get it. If you need to scrub the floor, use a mop. You may also want to use a long-handled dust pan when you sweep to prevent having to bend down. In short, always try to stay as upright as possible.
