SATA (Serial ATA) is a standard for hard and optical drives. While almost every motherboard has a SATA connection included, properly utilizing one requires that SATA drivers be installed in tandem with the installation of your operating system. This will allow the computer to properly recognize and utilize your SATA drive(s). Installing SATA drivers is a procedure that will take between 20 to 60 minutes.
