How do we go about setting up an Abbeyfield House?
A small group of interested individuals forms the nucleus of a steering committee that will grow into the Abbeyfield Society for your community. You will need on your committee people who will be able to supervise the running of the house, and professionals from the community such as a lawyer, a banker or accountant, individuals knowledgeable about housing, healthcare, and social work and members of the religious community. A public meeting is useful to gain community support and find more volunteers.
