How do Teaching Committees consider and respond to student feedback?
There were a range of methods for considering with and responding to student feedback. Attendees agreed that it was the role of the Teaching Committee to consider student feedback and to use it to keep an ‘oversight’ of the quality of teaching and learning. It was important that students and staff be informed of the results of student feedback, and any action arising from feedback received. In the Department of Physics the Staff-Student Consultative Committee considered feedback on courses, and a summary of feedback was produced by student representatives to go to Teaching Committee. Response to feedback is reported to students through the minutes of the Teaching Committee and at the next meeting of the Consultative Committee. In the Faculty of Philosophy a digest of all comments and statistical information from student feedback forms is created by the Faculty Administrator and kept in the Library for students and staff to access.
