How do spell-slinging mages work?
: Regular spell-slinging mages do not have to carry their spellbook with them. They have “memorized” the spells in their spell slots so they do not need to read over them to cast them. The only time a spell-slinging mage would need her spellbook is when the period changes over. At that point they must ‘memorize’ the spells they wish to use in the new period.
