How do private lessons work?
Private lessons can be taken in any style of dance with your instructor of choice. They can be purchased by packages of 3, 5, 10 or single lessons. Semi privates are private lessons booked with 2 or more students. We do our best to accommodate your schedule when booking and lessons can be booked during regular studio hours. Payment is required in full for all private lessons and are subject to 24 hour cancellation fee. A package of 3 private lessons is valid for 3 months, a package of 5 private lessons is valid for 5 months and a package of 10 private lessons is valid for 10 months.
Private instruction is one-on-one learning. Whether you are taking your lessons as a single or as a couple, your instructor will be there with you for as long as you are taking lessons. Private instruction allows you the freedom to move at your own pace because the lessons are tailored by the instructor to suit the learning needs of the student. These are the lessons that will not only teach you dance patterns, but provide you with and develop all of the necessary skills to make you an excellent dancer. Private lessons generally cover several dances during the lesson time.
Private lessons are to be arranged with the president of the academy, Stanley Yee. Typical lessons will be $1 per minute and most lessons are 10, 20, 30 minutes long. You can purchase multiple private lessons package. We have a new private beginner package available for those who prefer more individual attention, Private lessons with Dr. Kotlyar are $100/hour.
