How do people get on the Top Scores?
To become a best guesser on the “Science” page, you have to guess Featured people. Featured people are shown in an orange box on the “Home” page. Mostly they are chosen randomly, but sometimes they are a celebrity. The guesses you make of people that you invite to the site or select while browsing don’t count toward the top scores. Then you have to get the highest summed accuracy score for the month. So guessing a lot of Featured people and guessing carefully both help you become a best guesser. Easiest to Guess people (a.k.a. “Best Clues on a Profile”) were all guessed by as a Featured person. This way, it was unlikely the guesser knew the mystery already. Easiest to Guess people had highest average transparency score for the month. Hardest to Guess people (a.k.a. “Murkiest Clues on a Profile”) had the lowest average transparency score for the month, once again, when guessed by people who found them in the Featured Person box.
