Open the language toolbar (you do have one, don’t tell me you don’t. Ask Windows if you don’t believe me) and set it up so you can change it to French. The é is the 2 key, the è is the 7 key, the ç is the 9 key, the à is the 0 key, the ê, ô and â are the [ key followed by the letter, and the ù is the ‘ key. Some of the letters are also moved around as it’s an AZERTY set-up. The q and a swap places, as do the z and w, the m is the ; key… etc. You can have fun working it out by yourself. Alternatively, copy and paste the letters you need from this mail.

Give yourself the option of additional keyboards. Click Start Control Panel Regional and Language Options Languages Tab Details (a new box will open) Under Installed Services, click Add Choose the French (Canada) keyboard Click OK and OK to close the two boxes Close Control Panel You should see an EN when you roll the mouse over the bottom of the screen. Left click that, and you will see an FR. Click that. You will now have a French keyboard to use in that application. You’ll have to play with it a bit to find where all of the special keys are. They are mostly the punctuation keys on the right-hand side of the keyboard. Your default keyboard will still be English. You’ll have to choose French for whatever application you want to use after you open the application, e.g. Microsoft Word.
