Yes this is perfectly normal You Seee the baby is seeing you se it’s “mum” and will follow you everywhere like it has already been doing and the squeaks are just protests rather like separation anxiety as far as food goes you need to give it chick-crumb which is a special food formulated for all poultry babies eg goslings chicks and in your case ducklings also it will need water depending if it is feathered up and as big as your hands a nice deepish dish should be OK but make sure it doesn’t get to wet or cold or Begin to sink so i would just give him the deepish dish while you are there and a shallow one when you aren’t just to be sure! as far as him sleeping on his own honestly the best thing you can do is to get another duckling around the same age and they will get on fine and quack away to themselves :L Or if your stuck at the moment give him a cuddly teddy and some towels to cuddle up to Judging by the size i don’t think it needs a heat lamp but if it looks cold give it that or a

You probably have a Pekin duckling. Here is a pic of a pekin duckling. http://www.freewebs.com/rlcollins/DSCN02… To care for the duckling here is a step by step for Feeding and other care tips: I am asuming seeing as you duckling is so small that it is within a wk old. You need to feed it Non-medicated starter flock feed. Here is what it looks like http://extecmcons.landolakes.com/stellen… You can find that at your local Farm supplies/tractor supplies store. You will need to feed him/her on that until he is 6 wks old. Make sure that he has fresh food and water 24/7. After that you can feed him adult unmedicated flock feed or Adult layers feed if he is actually a she. Dont let him/her swim until he is 3 wks old. And even then, make sure to watch him closely whil
