How do I get the Auto Email control to appear on my pages in Microsoft Expression Web?
For some unknown reason, Microsoft engineered Expression Web so that it isn’t possible to add specialized controls like Auto Email to the toolbox the way you can with Visual Studio or Visual Web Developer Express. Still, you can use Auto Email with Microsoft Expression Web and get design-time capabilities. The procedure involves adding Auto Email to what is known as the Global Assembly Cache (or GAC for short.) To do this, you can drag-and-drop the Auto Email dll into your \Windows\Assembly\ folder. If that doesn’t work for you, you can also use the MS DOS Prompt to XCopy the Auto Email DLL into the appropriate folder. Once the Auto Email dll is in the Global Assembly Cache, you simply paste two lines of HTML into the HTML of your web page, then switch back to design view and then you can use Auto Email just like in Visual Studio or Web Developer Expreess (as seen in the Video Tutorial.)
