How do i find the area of a triangle with only the base given?
Err…I would need way more info than that. Is it a right triangle? Are there any given measurements of the angles? I’d love to help, but I’m fairly sure it’s impossible if all you’re given is the base. Sorry! Edit: Hokay…Let me see how to explain this. It would be way easier if I could draw you a picture, but here goes it. You know that the sides of the prism are rectangles, and therefore all their corners have right angles. You also know that the base of the rectangle is 6 in. You can use this to find the height of the rectangle, which is also the side of one of the trinagles. Take your rectangle and make a right triangle out of one of the corners. If you draw a diagonal line from one corner to exactly the middle of the opposite side of the rectangle, you get a right triangle with a base of 3 in (because you divided the 6 in. side in half). And since you divided one corner (which was a right angle) in half, you know that both of the angles of the right triangle are 45 degrees. And
