How can one obtain / get started with VMmark?
To get started with VMmark, one should follow the steps below: • Download the latest VMmark Kit The VMmark kit contains the VMmark User’s Guide, the configuration files, and much of the software needed to run VMmark. • Download the pre-built templates The same download page contains links to pre-built templates for the three Linux virtual machines used in the benchmark. • Extract the VMmark kit Extract the contents of the VMmark kit to C:/ on your initial Windows Server 2003 client system. • Refer to the VMmark Benchmark Guide Follow the instructions in the VMmark Benchmark Guide (in the ‘docs’ directory of the VMmark kit) for directions on how to set up and run the benchmark. • Read the run and reporting rules carefully The VMmark Rules document (in the ‘docs’ directory of the VMmark kit) outlines the requirements for producing a publishable VMmark result. Any VMmark result that the benchmarker plans to publish must adhere to the Run and Reporting rules included in the benchmark kit.
