How can one automate basic drawing functions, such as filling in a title block or adding drawing notes?
It is important to have a well thought out sheet format and drawing template. Frequently accessed fields should be included on the template as annotation notes which are linked to existing custom properties. These custom properties may be then quickly filled out at pulldown File>Properties under the tab Custom. One may also create a more streamlined and company specific macro that lists the most important custom properties. Also, on the drawing template, use a SolidWorks revision block, customized to meet the needs of the company or individual. Use a macro that allows one to automatically fill out the revision block fields. Finally, use a macro that gives the user the ability to automatically add general drawing notes, customized to suit company or individual needs.
