How can I use our computers and Internet provision to encourage young peoples interest in reading?
• Get them talking! Talking with authors via author websites, talking with each other via sites like Stories from the Web where they can tell each other about their favourite books. They can write their own book reviews for sites like Cool Reads and write their own stories on sites like Kids on the Net. • Make contacts with other library authorities so that the young people in each place can email each other about their favourite – and not-so-favourite – reads. If you have video-conferencing facilities you could get some great discussions going.
