How Can I Transfer Data to My New Computer?
When you get a new computer you’re more than ready for the faster speed and all the shiny newness. But your old computer likely has a ton of information on it that you need on your new computer to do everything you were doing before, and you’ll want a seamless transition. Copying the data to your new computer is easy–finding it, however, may be a bit harder. Find the data. All your office and similar documents are likely either in a folder you chose or under the “My Documents” folder. Other files that are associated with a particular program, such as Microsoft Money, will have an on option to back up the data file. Choose the option from something like the “File” menu. Choose to save the file to the same location with your other documents. Browse to the folder you’ve saved all your documents in.
