How can I tell whether my browser has adequate security for exchanging private information via the Web?
Your browser should support 128-bit encryption (security programming). For the two most common browsers, follow these instructions to find out the browser’s level of encryption: Internet Explorer: At the top of the browser window, select Help > About Internet Explorer. Check whether your browser supports 128-bit encryption. Netscape Navigator: At the top of the browser window, select Help > About Communicator. Check whether your browser supports 128-bit encryption. If you do not have the latest version of Internet Explorer or Netscape, the process might be slightly different, but will be similar to the above.
