How can i teach stable manners?

Having seen the irresponsibility of many owners of Pit Bull dogs for 50 years or more I think it should not be Illegal to own one but it should be incumbent on the Breeders to limit to whom they may be able to sell to and they need to chang the standard so that vicious and tentatively dangerous temperaments are eliminated from the breed! It can be done! That being said ,Your expectations for this horse is unrealistic.and saddling in a stall is something I would NOT do. You sound as if you need to be in a barn where training for your self is apart of the barn’s objective . Please seek professional help to teach you and your horse what you need. It is apparent that you are at this barn for reasons that may be social rather that beneficial to you and your horse.

It can be frustrating and dangerous for her to do this. You could try fitting a chain across the front of the stable door about chest height, but better still, tack her up while tied up. Or, if that is not possible, take a crop into the stable and every time she tries to move towards or through the door give her a sharp crack across the chest. After a few days she will learn the lesson that it is not acceptable. This will not hurt her unduly and your slap should be accompanied with a sharp verbal command “BACK”. I hope you get this sorted. She is probably just trying to test you.

Fix a tie ring in the horses stable so you can tie her up when you are there. Secondly it should be easy enough to fix a small latch to the inside of the door that you can keep it closed.

I am not sure how clear I am about what is happening with your horse. You should not be tacking up in the stall. If you are putting on a halter, she should stand still until you are ready. If she charges out the door ahead of you or runs over you as you come in, this is really rude behavior and probably works because you are permitting it. Stop this behavior by catching it before it happens. Read her body language. This behavior is definitely dangerous. If she is just walking away because she doesn’t want to be caught then you have some ground work to do. Start out by being the one who feeds her and don’t put the food in the tub until she comes over. Walk away and let her eat. Assuming she is walking out the door as you put on the halter, don’t make her feel trapped and find yourself closed in there with her. The first few days will be difficult. Try to keep her as calm as possible. If you can get near her, get the rope around her neck and then put on the halter. I know you will want t
