They are similar in a number of ways. Both service offer dozens of commercial-free music channels (65 on Sirius, 67 on XM), catering to every taste, preference and genre. They’re all different, and they’re all great. Both XM and Sirius manage their own music channels. Most channels (particularly the popular ones) have live DJ’s. A few do not. In any case, the interruptions are infrequent and entertaining. Also, many of their news, talk, etc channels are the same. To provide the best quality programming they offer the popular cable-network channels. It’s similar to your local cable company, they both XM and Sirius broadcast the same “Discovery Channel” or “Court TV”, etc.
