DataFax-compatible CRFs are developed in the Adobe FrameMaker design software based on final drafts provided by the client. Adobe FrameMaker 7.1, with vendor-supplied barcode editing applet is currently used for CRF development. PDFs are used for drafts as well as for print-ready files for local, site, or client-specified printing of CRFs.Final testing is performed at DF/Net to verify the correct interpretation of the barcodes and ICR layout as part of study validation.CRF layout is based on the DataFax CRF guidelines provided by the vendor.
