How are contract and assistance transactions assigned to fiscal years?
For contracts, the fiscal year used on USAspending.gov is the fiscal year of the file that the individual award record was supplied in. In other words, the federal contracts database provides awards records grouped into files by fiscal year, and these are the fiscal years assigned to the data records.For Federal assistance, each record has a fiscal year plus quarter data field, and this is used unless it is indicated that the record is a correction for a previous fiscal year and quarter.
