Yes. It does spoil. It gets rancid. In Gujarati language, it is call Khomu or khoru. Its taste and even colour can change a bit and even give soar throat. It gets cloudy. But it can be kept out side for days before it get bad. Depends on many things. Such as: 1. Temp. 2. Handling. 3. Time. Refrigeration will extend the life but not for ever.
