Does Scotland speak the proper English language?

0

I was born and have lived in scotland for 52 years and I have never had any problems – my job involves talking on the telephone to company directors all over England and never had any problems, obviously we have various scottish accents and a few different words for the same thing. I am from Glasgow but people from Edinburgh say things like – A Ken her weel, meaning I know her well, the people from Aberdeen, when asking Where abouts sounds like furry boots. Inverness is a very hard accent to understand, even I have problems but in general we speak english, ex hubby had an english degree for teaching. I think your tutor should have said to speak polite on the phone.
