Does DISC 7397 count as an MIS elective?
The 7397 course number, in the DISC department and in other departments, is a designator of a course that is being taught to see if there is sufficient demand and adequate topic material to warrant a new permanent course. A course can be a 7397 course for three years before a decision is made to make it permanent. In the DISC department, 7397 may be used for an MIS class, an Operations Management class or a Statistics/Operations Research class. Consequently, you need to check to see what the class contains before assuming that it is an MIS elective. The safest way to tell is to check with the DISC department. When you register for a 7397 class, make sure and use the appropriate section number.
