Does AMS provide a kneeling system?
No, Adaptive Mobility Systems formerly known as Handicaps Mobility has learned many lessons since their introduction into the Mobility Industry in 1979. In the past, they have repaired numerous kneeling systems from manufacturers of nearly every handicap van provider including Braun, IMS, and VMI. Customers repeatedly explained that they turned this feature off because of the need for repair, which meant they were taking frequent trips to local mobility van dealers. AMS knew that our customers did not need to endure this; therefore, they decided to eliminate this feature from the conversion. However, this could be a necessity need for some. For example, wheelchair occupants who drive from a manual wheelchair might need the kneeling system. Some of our clients might not have the upper body strength necessary to push a manual wheelchair up the power ramp.
