Does ALSTOM need to measure the existing turbine?
Retrofit of other OEM turbines requires dimensional data from site surveys, which are performed by our own experienced engineers. Besides the traditional ‘manual measuring’, the use of a coordinate measuring machine (FARO arm or laser scanning) enables ALSTOM to obtain: • Complex Surface representations • High degree of measurement accuracy • 3D “wire-frame” CAD model. Measurement campaigns are typically performed during planned outages. These are short visits with minimal impact on outage activities.
