Do tuples have to require a given set of facts?
Considerable flexibility is available to users of tuples because there are no requirements imposed by XBRL that any particular set of facts must be contained by a tuple. This is helpful in situations where different combinations of concepts are appropriate in specifying the value of a tuple. For example, in some countries addresses include a postcode with a numeric datatype while in other countries addresses include an areacode, with a string datatype. By choosing to include the appropriate fact, instance documents can cover both situations without difficulty.
